Glass Heart
This is my glass heart
It remains cold in the dark
Without a hand holding it
Or a heart beating with it
It’s scratched and dinged
But that just adds to the beauty
When the sun hits it
And warms it through
It’s unique
Just like its owner
It appears shattered
But again it adds to the beauty
It’s bright and focused
When the sun shines
It’s warm to the touch
And beautiful to the eyes
But finger prints are easily left
By those who cared for it
And only the scars are permanent
This glass heart of mine
