Favorite Quote:
"Light can never hide, but darkness always will"

Pure white
Covers my vision

Whiter than the cleanest dove
I stand
Before the most beautiful atmosphere
The world could ever possibly provide

Warmth floods my heart
Swelling with pride
He is my son
Brown eyes
Squinting as his smile
Brightens the whole room

His future is waiting

Always
To be in the corner of my eye
Always
To be in my loving heart
But now I have to say goodbye
I will always remember you
In my heart

Silky black
Covers my vision
Dark as a crow’s feathers
Sadder than a heartbroken widow

I weep
In the breath of death’s agony

Stares flicker
Toward the porcelain body
Eyelids closed
Arms crossed over his motionless heart

He is my son
Blue eyes
As round as the moon
Brightening the night’s sky

His cheeks red as the roses
Laying by his open casket
Forever lost
In the sea of death
Never
To be in my watchful eye
Never
To be cradled in my loving arms
But now I have to say goodbye
I will never forget you
In my heart

The author's comments:
My poem’s focus was to clash sad moments with happy ones.
Even though life gives us complications, they always offer cheerful situations afterward. These two events are actually reality; my nine-year-old cousin died during the time my cousin was preparing for marriage. Life can be very confusing.
