Alcoholic
Tensing up
Eyes Shut
A hand rises
Not to rejoice
Not to question
Inflicting pain
Descending
Faint cry
Hidden tears
Shattered innocence
The young girl
Living with a monster
As he feeds
The fuller the monster becomes
The more empty he seems
Glazed eyes
Blind to pain
Terror streams
The little girl
Unsure
Unknowing
Sadness her only friend
She grows
The monster strengthens
Feeding a must
Raining agony
The stream
No longer
Raging rivers
Taking its place
The young girl
A woman
Makes a decision
Leaves
Searching for happiness
Feeding no longer
Fueling
More than it can hold
Roaring echoes
Never ending
A curtain falls
Softening sound
Until it is no more
The woman
Finds content
Living fully
The monster
Laid to rest
Memory only left
A hand
Soothes
Care
Protection
To the woman
Anguish
Horror
Darkness
Future becomes present
Shadows follow
Light takes its place
Caring arms
Gentle hands
Calming
Harmony achieved
She grows old
The woman full
All but in one way
Questioning above
As night takes over
She says
“If only I had a father”
