Knowing the Unfamiliar
Sitting atop the ten story clock tower
Looking at the clear blue ocean
Eating my sea salt ice cream
With my pyro, Axel,
His spikey hair as red as fire
Just touching the heap of his
Shoulder blades
I look over at him and
He was looking back
He gave a grin like a Cheshire cat
And said,
“We are all nobody’s,
Without hearts, we
Can’t feel… but
Somehow I feel as
Though you are my
Heart, with me,
Always,
You may still
Be curious
About the unfamiliar
I will teach you,
But it will take time.”
“Axel, do you love
Me?”
Axel’s eyebrows
Knitted together in
Confusion
But smoothed out like
Satin realizing what
I had said.
“Of course, who
Else would I eat my
Sea salt ice cream with”
This time he gave
A light grin and
Kissed my temple
I smiled back
