Far in the back of my mind
I’ve built a shrine
To commemorate the memory of you
Because I live in great fear
That one day
Your face
Your touch
Will vanish from my dreams
And I will be without my anchor,
The person who even when absent,
keeps my feet planted
on the ground
Keeps me from floating so high above
Myself
that I lose

Up in the clouds
