A face stared out of the mirror,











it isn’t mine and it isn’t yours,











so whom does it belong to?












The face was smiling, the face was beautiful.










But whom did it belong to?












I gazed at it in pondered thought











and then it came to me as clear as the calm sea.




It was my face ....but not mine.











It was the person i wanted to be the person you wanted me to be. Just a dream in a mirror.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece after I saw myself in the mirror at my yr 7 grad dance. all night people had been saying how pretty I looked but I didn't really believed them. Now I've never been a vain girl, in fact I hardly care about my looks but when I saw myself (If i do say so myself)I did look very nice and I finally decided that I would believe what all my classmates were saying. I hope that every girl out there has a one moment like I had, when all the boys want to dance with you.
