Memorable Moments
I just wanted to have memories of her and me
Sitting under a shaded willow tree
Expressing our ideas among a dark starry sky
Holding each other’s hand, and never saying goodbye.
I just wanted to remember how she smiled with her beautiful face
But the one thing I felt was a calm safe place.
Yes, I know it sounds like nothing but absurd
Yet, trust me when I say this, I mean it, word for word.
I wanted to go to IKEA and play house.
Because you always look great in that blouse.
Nevertheless, I don’t just like you because you’re pretty
I love you, because you’re elegant and witty.
I want… us…to be you and me.
As were once again sitting under our willow tree.
It’s these moments that I’ve always wanted to remember for the rest of my life
But I want to share them, with a loving, beautiful wife.
