There I Stand

January 29, 2008
By Katie Givens, Cape May Court House, NJ

I stroll upon the windy shores.
The bewildering waters of the sea wash against my callus born feet.
Above my head, seagulls screech and soar.
Yellow and orange monarchs flutter in the breeze,
Like ruby-red and pearly white petals in a current of wind.
Clouds hover in the heavens above my sinful being.
And within all the dazzling splendor,
There I stand upon the windy shores.
