Am I waiting for the truth to sink,
or am I consumed with doubt?
It’s amazing that how much I think
I haven’t figured you out.
Deep within that winter night
lay the truth yet to emerge.
I made it through your fearful fight
and let our minds converge.
It was everything but a mystery,
though I stuck with oblivion;
we both knew your history
and the potential of a sin.
Wisely, I took the lead,
the initial plan of action.
I spoke to her, I had to plead
and I told her what had happened.
With a laugh, she smiled soft,
as a close friend would.
With simple words, she brushed it off
and made my evil good.
Released from my heartfelt tension,
I let out a careful sigh.
After weeks of pure suspension
I’ve broken through this lie.
