My uncle takes long walks:
He inches to still houses
To utter rejected truth to unprepared families.

My uncle looks into the eyes of wives
And delivers notes of pain, deaths of heroes:
Facts that shatter every piece of reality they know.

My uncle bears the piercing screams of mothers,
Sees the tears of strong fathers
And witnesses scared little brothers and sisters.

Men fight war, families mourn losses,
My uncle takes long walks.
