I Couldn't Be Myself

I followed the crowd,
Not saying what I thought aloud.
Agreeing with things I knew were wrong,
But I ignored the guilt, I went on strong.
I have to live with my mistake,
Being reminded that I was a fake.
Now I regret what I worked so hard to be
Please look beyond what people see.
Please look at the real me.
