Humid days of summer;
Children race
over me.
Spontaneous thunderstorms
Explode in the sky
Drenching me
With cool rain.
Warm breezes,
Blow my friends away.
Rain drowns me
In small puddles.
Summer fades,
Fall arrives.
Myriad colored leaves
Soothe me.
Arrive,
Greet,
Visit,
Depart.
Squirrels scamper
Across my face
Like the leaves
In the breeze.
Wind,
Cool,
Inviting;
Gusts through
Bringing
More friends
Replacing
Who
It sweeps away.
I rest there
Suspended.
Around
Everyone I know,
I provide consolation
To the weary.
