They said she hated him
With a passion
That could set the stars ablaze
She said she loved him
More now than ever before
He said it wasn’t that easy
For him to know
And yet go on as though he didn’t
I said I made up my mind
Moving on and away
That was my only escape
And together we tried to forget the past
But still our futures were filled
With the memories of before
