Trust
If people stayed true to their words,
I would have trusted you, took your hand, and continued what we had.
Move along, keep going I say.
Would the world be a better place?
Maybe but no one "really" stays true to their words.
Everyone cries, everyone lies, dies, disappears without a trace
and their words are lost but not forgotten.
Would lies become less heartbreaking?
Who knows, the little white lie is still there in the back of your mind, biting irritating that sore spot wanting to be scratched.
But if people stayed true to their words that lie wouldn't be there in the back of my mind,
you'd be here holding my hand while we sit here in the light brown sand
