Protect Her

Somewhere beneath the surface,
Of your glistening, tear-filled eyes,
There lies some dark, hidden secret.
I hear it in your voice,
I taste it on your skin,
I feel it as I stare upon you,
Innocent, though guilty.
You understand that I know you’re lying.
You continue to do so anyway.

Please, confide in me.
I have done so for you so numerously,
I have lost track!

Your innocence I fell in love with.
How you were ignorant to everything.
I taught you so many new things.
With me, we shared something unique.

Why to someone you’ve trusted for so long?

Somewhere beneath the surface,
Of your glistening, tear-filled eyes,
There had laid some dark, hidden secret.

I heard it as you spoke to me gently.
Tasted it in your lips as I kissed away your sorrow.
I felt it in my heart as I gazed upon your solemn stare back at me.

Innocent once more.
You’ve told me the truth.

My darling, no one will hurt you anymore.
I’m here to protect you.
He’ll never touch you again.

My innocent treasure.

He’ll never touch you again.
Don’t lie about him.
He’ll never touch you again.
