-1 Cor. 16:14

There’s A Butterfly

There’s a butterfly
That won’t fly away from my house
Al it does is fly, fly, fly
It has orange, black, and yellow wings
The orange is like fire
The black is like night
And well, the yellow
It’s like sunshine

There’s a butterfly
That won’t fly away from my house
But yet, it refuses to let me catch it
I can run like a sprinter
I can jump like a kangaroo
And I can reach for the sky til I’m out of breath
But the butterfly wins every time
I wonder why it just doesn’t leave then

There’s a butterfly
That won’t fly away from my house
When I leave in the morning
It’s there flying about
And it’s still there
When I get back at night
One Sunday morning I left for Church
And the sun was shining on that butterfly

There’s a butterfly
That won’t fly away from my house
And now I know why it does
That butterfly is an angel
And all it wants to do is fly, fly, fly

The author's comments:
A butterfly that constantly flew in my front yard inspired me to write this poem. My mom and I were leaving for Church one day and there it was still flying about. My mom said, "Oh, that surely must be a angel."
