I fall behind

I fall behind unable to catch up with
The embellished language that falls from your lips
With a smirk
And pompous air that says
“I am better that you, look how long my words are”
And gravity only fails me
When I try to get higher than you
My tongue only trips clumsily over words
Whose meanings are unknown to me
And that come out slow and lazy. Unsure.
I stay grounded and you
Look down and
Laugh.
