Mixed Signals

You say one thing, but it feels like another.
Sometimes your words don't quite fit together.
I see your point and get what you mean,
But that doesn't mean I'm not getting mixed signals.
You say that you're happy, but it doesn't seem real.
Sometimes you won't show me how you do feel.
I know you want this and believe it too,
But that doesn't mean I'm not getting mixed signals.
I tell myself Be quiet! and stop worrying so much.
But that doesn't mean I never get mixed signals.
