"There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends." - Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Columbus sails the ocean blue in fourteen hundred ninety-two
I sit in the back and all I do
is drown myself
in studies of you

Lincoln gives the Gettysburg Address
I sink in silence and distress
Wondering which words would be best
To speak to you, and ignore the rest

Truman drops bombs, and I think
What would it take to make you blink
Once or twice in my direction
My pen distracted
taps and tinks…

Semester’s over and report card’s due
Now’s the time to rue
hours spent on you
I’m an expert on
love come and gone –

Who says I didn’t learn anything in APUSH this year?
