She Would Make It

She’s the girl alone on a Friday night
Reading her sad love book,
Who stayed home and studied like she was told,
Never gave the party life a second look.
She obeyed her parents, was quiet in class,
Never was really part of the crowd.
Boys didn’t fall at her feet, like they did other girls,
Even though she was pretty, she just wasn’t proud.
She couldn’t see the beauty that was in her golden heart,
But curled up into her tiny shell
Wondered when her chance would start.
Didn’t realize all along, that her chance had already come,
She was just to reach out and take it.
That if she took a single step of faith,
Then no doubt she would make it.
