He turned her into a tree in autumn

He turned her into a tree in autumn
A skeletal version of her former self
Dying with every leaf he rips off
He might as well just cut her down
He turned her into a runaway
It's dark and cold and she can't get home
Locked in her room and lost in her head
He hasn't even bothered to look for her
He turned her into just a shadow
Silent, sullen, trying not to stand out
Afraid of what he'll say about her mistakes
He just can't keep his misery to himself
