What Hurts the Most?

By
What Hurts the Most?

We used to lie against each other
Laying on my roof under the stars
Waiting for it to rain
So that way we could have are first moments
But what hurts the most?
You never called again.

We went to the movies
All alone, or even with friends
We laughed, jumped, or even cried together.
But what hurts the most?
It never happened again.

My friends and your friends got along
We played games and even snuck off
We left them.
Just you and I.
But what hurts the most?
Those games faded. And so did our friends.

We changed paces
Starting seeing new friends
You had yours and I had mine.
But are friends aren’t even friends
Like they used to be
Laughing and giggling
At all the funny things we used to see
But what hurts the most?
They don’t laugh anymore.

What hurts the most?
Is that you left me.
What hurts the most?
Is that you took her.
What hurts the most?
Is that we don’t even talk.
What hurts the most?
Is that you ruined my life.
What hurts the most?
Is that I still love you.
But what really hurts the most?
Is that those games, laughing, and laying under the stars…
Was all a waste of time.
