To Mother
I often wonder what would have happened if my mother never left.
You see I am something my mother calls,
A beautiful accident.
Rare and fair, and far between dreams and destiny,
My mother said the angels had a special plan for me.
So I waited for nine long months,
Just to meet her face to face,
For the girl who had ran away,
Decided I was here to stay.
Days to months, months to years,
With people who came and went,
Yet by my side as the years passed by,
The woman stood there tall.
Telling me who I could be,
Helping me not to fall.
I often wonder what would have happened if my mother never left.
You see I am something my mother calls a beautiful accident.
