"Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell your storm how big your God is."

It's the blackened rose of eternity
With all its secrets of forbidden love
Its charred petals that had once been serenity
Its beauty once compared to a white dove

With all its secrets of forbidden love
Its now broken stem had once stood upright
Its beauty had once been compared to a white dove
This dead rose had once given the world light

Its now broken stem had once stood upright
Before it was plucked from its resting place
This dead rose had once given the world light
Only now to be stuck between time and space

Yes, it was plucked from its resting place
Its charred petals that had once been serenity
Only now to be stuck between time and space
Oh, it's the blackened rose of eternity!

I saw a picture of a dead rose, that's petals were turning black, right next to a cracked picture of a full grown, beautiful red rose. I was prompted by that picture to write this.
