A Free World…
A woman’s plea for life

It is a free world I live in
And yet freedom I don’t see.
With chains and ropes
My life hangs alive.
It is a free world I live in
And freedom when I ask for
‘Tis that which they deny.
It is a free world I live in
And yet freedom I don’t breathe.
The air of despair and doom
Encircles my life forever.
And freedom when I ask for
‘Tis that which they deny.
It is a free world I live in
And yet freedom I don’t feel.
The restrictions of life unnecessary
And meaningless obligations
Control my life
And take it away.
And freedom when I ask for
‘Tis that which they deny.
Oh, what freedom is this?
Freedom doesn’t seem free.

Amidst all this talk of globalisation and development, we forget one basic essence of society...women. So, here's one to them.
