Sitting on the Santa Monica beach in the cool soft sand. As darkness creeps up from behind, the sun and the horizon meet, like a mothers gentle touch. The clouds move away as if a gate, opening welcoming the sun home for rest. The colors change from light blue to light yellow. The colors warm as if it were a kiss, as it touches the ocean. The waves suddenly calm singing a light lullaby to the sun as it lays. Yellow to bright orange , the clouds now close. The sun settles in it cradle, a soft lullaby can be heard as the sand turns cold. I say goodbye to the sun as if it was never returning. Orange to darkness. Clouds disappear, the sand is cold, I walk back. The waves sing loud and proud the symphony of the sun’s reams.

This really started out only as an assignment from school a year ago but it sparked my writings, all of them.
