An awkward little girl in junior high
Asked her mother to be on her side
But the mother refused
And the little girl cried

A stubborn little girl in junior high
Wanted to sit in front for the ride
But the sister refused
And the little girl cried

A fearful little girl in junior high
Sought out some friends whom she could confide
But the friends refused
And the little girl cried

A depressed little girl in junior high
Wanted a home where she could reside
But the large house refused
And the little girl cried

A bothered little girl in junior high
Wanted a mask which allowed her to hide
But the brown bags refused
And the little girl cried

An unhappy little girl in junior high
Wondered why normal was what she defied
But the spirit refused
And the little girl cried

A timid little girl in junior high
Wished she was prettier on the outside
But the cold face refused
And the little girl cried

An alarmed little girl in junior high
Wondered why make-up couldn’t give her false pride
But the lipstick refused
And the little girl cried

A remote little girl in junior high
Wanted to venture into the inside
But the inside refused
And the little girl cried

A disheartened little girl in junior high
Sometimes felt like she wanted to die
But the nerved hands refused
And the little girl cried

And a brave little girl in junior high
Wanted to run, Wanted to try
But her conscience refused

And the little girl cried…
