THE STAIN

I scrub at the stain,
black, black stain.
I scrub at the stain,
All the time.
I do not stop to brush my hair,
I scrub at the stain,
I push on the stain,
I rub at the stain,
All the time.
I can't pause to bathe,
To sleep,
To eat.
I can only scrub at the stain,
Poisonous stain,
growing stain.
The stain
On my heart, on my soul,
On my mind.
I scrub at the stain,
But it will never, ever, never,
Go away.
I scrub at the stain,
On my heart.
