Potential

A jar
Alone
The mud envelopes
But does not break
Its seal

Its contents
Remain
Untouched and un-guessed at
Hidden from the eye
By the layers of familiarity

It is
An unassuming wellspring
Waiting to be tapped
By those who have ignored its cargo
Those who undermeasured

A ray of light
Moves through the jar
And flashes strange patterns
Upon the mud
