Sunshine and Summertime

May 18, 2010
By Anonymous

The school bell rings,
The group heads out.
The chime of laughter,
Is heard through out.
Sunshine and Summertime

The days are longer,
The nights stay warm.
Young love starts blooming,
And life transforms.
Sunshine and Summertime

The temperature rises,
The lake is full.
The fireflies lure you in,
With a relentless pull.
Sunshine and Summertime

For a short time our freedom,
Is in its prime.
But that’s the ironic beauty,
Of sunshine and summertime.

I only have a week and a half of school left and I can't wait to be out!! My love for Summer inspired me to write this poem.
