Apple Juice
I

I go to the grocery store,
I purchase my favorite juice,
Apple Juice,
I return home,
Put it in the fridge,
Safe,
Later, I am thirsty,
I walk to the fridge, open it
My juice is gone.

II

The next day, I return to the store,
I purchase my apple juice,
I return home,
Put it in the back of the fridge,
Behind all of the food,
Safe,
Later, I am thirsty,
I walk to the fridge, open it
My juice is gone…again.

III

I return to the store for the third time,
I buy two apple juices.
Just to make sure,
I return home,
Hide my juice in the fridge,
Ha…safe,
Later, I am thirsty,
I walk to the fridge, open it
Both my juices are gone.

IV

Who drank my apple juice?

V

I go to the grocery store,
I purchase my apple juice and a permanent marker,
I return home,
Write my name on the bottle,
Put it in the fridge,
Safe,
Later, I am thirsty,
I walk to the fridge, open it,
There it is,
My apple juice.

This piece is a chapter poem inspired by my life experience of people in my house taking my apple juice.
