One who is in danger
Must be saved
One who saves
Must be certified
Must have the courage to risk their life for another
And the intelligence to know how to do it correctly

Watch carefully.
Enforce the rules.
Know your techniques.
Save anyone, no matter what it takes.

One who rescues
Does not care what will happen to themselves.
Using courage, intelligence, and integrity,
A lifeguard has all swimmers’ lives in their hands
