Mom and Dad

When I was young the days were long,
and everything they said was always wrong.

There's a point in your life
when you realize that they'd been right.

What they said is finally true,
along with the things they made you do.

I love my mommy and my dad,
even when they punish me for being bad.

Now I know they'll always be there,
they're the ones who truly care.

I'm the best I can be,
when we're together, just us three.
