The Multi-Colored Flapper
Blue, yellow, orange, and green
And every color in between
Buggy eyes and little feet
I panic when we meet
On a blossom she sits
Drinking its “sweet juice”
Weakens my knees
But still, I do stand
The constant flutter
Of many frightening colors
Tightens my stomach
And makes me stutter
How could this flapper
So beautiful and bold
Hurt me so tender
And have me scream like a little girl
I am relieved,
For which time has passed
And you are gone
And from there, I walk on
