A Black Man Grows a Mother cries and hurts
This boy means so much to his mother he's growing up fast
His mother enjoys her son's sweet smile, she enjoys his sweet laugh
He's growing up he's now a teen
His mother gets weary each night he leaves

A Black Man Grows a mother cries and hurts
This boy is now 16
Only problem is he's on the wrong team
His poor mother begs her son not to leave
But he pays her no mind and continues to flee

A Black Man Grows a mother cries and hurts
The mother recieves the most shocking news
Her boy who's now a man is on the news
He was shot up on the block by another man's glock
This news takes her breath away and she knows she's going to mourn
Her baby boy who's a man has gone away and will never return again

I had had a nightmare the night before i wrote this poem. I'm not sure why I had that nightmare but I did. I was in my english class and asked to write a poem and this is what i wrote about. My english teacher Mr. Perkins was very satified with it and I wanted to share it with others. I hope you like it!
