The salty smell fills my nose
I can feel your sand between my toes
When I feel your wind in my face
I know I’m in my happy place
Children playing while the dogs bark
Some guy yells ‘look out for the shark’
I put on my wetsuit and wax my board
Then say a prayer ‘let there be good surf dear lord’
I get splashed by cold water but it’s not so bad
I paddle out and wait up for my dad
Just when he’s just about to catch up
I go for a wave as he yells ‘good luck’!
As I fly across the water happy as could be
The ocean sucks me down
My dream got the best of me
