Her blonde hair and blue eyes
Show her true German heritage.
And although these are her
Favorite things about herself
She dislikes her body.
She wishes she was thinner.
Battles an eating disorder.
Teased in middle school.
Her self image still isn’t very good,
She hates to look in the mirror,
Is scared of what she will see:
Another flaw, more fat.
She wants to feel better about herself
But she does not know how.
So she will continue to hide
And lick the wounds
From middle school.
Hoping that one day
She will be happy with who she is.
