A second grade classroom
Silently practicing
Our newly found knowledge
A cursive ‘t’
Two times two
Then the TV blinks on
A flash
Of fire and smoke
And the screen goes
Black
As if nothing had been showing
Only seconds before
We were little

Still living in our
Little bubble
Of ignorant bliss
