This is me, the self you see.
(This is me, the self I hide.)
Bright blue eyes sparkling with laughter,
(Bright blue eyes shimmering with scorn,)
A wide smile, slightly crooked,
(A crooked sneer, twisted in hate,)
Friendly hands reaching out with painted fingernails
(Clenched hands with fingernail marks in the palms)
Soft in the darkness, bright in the day
(Hidden in darkness, defying the day)
The stereotypical good girl
(The stereotypical bad girl)
This is me, the self you see.
(This is me, the self I hide.)
And who’s to tell
(And who’s to say)
Which me
(Which part)
Is waiting for
(You)
