Your identity
In the wake of life,
When all is crumbling,
Through pain and strife,
Heartbreak and humbling,
It’s in the back of your mind,
Watching and waiting,
What will you reach out to find?
Will you love, or continue hating?
I’ve been there, been shot down
I’ve been there, triumphant and proud,
Completely sad with a frown,
And happy, my head in a cloud.
Till life’s end,
From start to finish,
Don’t break or bend,
Smile, don’t grimace.
Life’s only a short term,
Live it to capacity,
Try not to melt, stay firm
And remember, keep your audacity.
