The Storm

By
The Storm

Whistling Wind
Pounding Rain
Flashing Lightening
The Storm

The power goes off
You sit very still
A siren blares
Downstairs you run

Whistling wind
Pounding Rain
Flashing Lightening
The Storm

Huddling in a corner
In your windowless room
You listen, waiting
For the storm to end

Whistling wind
Pounding rain
Flashing Lightening
The storm

A crash
From over you
Water falls on top of you
And the noise keeps coming

Whistling wind
Pounding rain
Flashing lightening
The storm

The flashing stops
The siren ends
Everything is quiet
So very quiet

You stand up
And start up the stairs
Out into the open air
To see what the storm left behind

Whistling wind
Pounding rain
Flashing lightening

The Storm
