Smoke Break

May 15, 2008
His cigarette burns
As the ashes of reality are dashed and forgotten.
The drag he inhales brings fantasy to life.
A living swirl of consumed smoke rises into the night
Disappearing as it despenses.
His job is irrelevant:
His bills,
His stress
The image of bliss is strengthened by each drag.
His quiet time.
Peaceful. Somber.
Ten minutes of nicotine pleasure.
Smoke break.
