Grandpa
I wish my grandpa were here.
He’s so far away,
But he always seems to be near.
When I was little, he left with no fear
Went up to heaven to be with God
I wish my grandpa were here.
At times I hear him whisper in my ear.
“I love you,” I hear from a distance.
But he always seems to be near.
My family and I live without him year after year.
Grandma’s gotten used to it but is lonely.
I wish my grandpa were here.
As he watches out for me, he sees me shed a tear.
I don’t like living without him,
But he always seems to be near.
Without him my life can’t be crystal clear.
He’s gone forever.
I wish my grandpa were here.
But he always seems to be near.
