"Good poets write for their audience while great poets write for themselves"
-Markus Sinclair

If light and dark escaped the Earth
And traveled to a place unknown
Leaving their post and royal throne,
To which would man assign more worth?

The light is justice, light is fair
Light shows us what we don’t want seen
It exposes our evil dreams
That we keep locked ‘neth skull and hair

The darkness is our only calm
A mask to hide our wicked deeds
For in the darkness we plant seeds
And fertilize them with our psalms

Which will be more mournfully missed?
Darkness, and its wanton bliss.
