Time's fun when you're having flies!

We walk along the beach
hand in hand together we
gaze into the endless blue
as I look deeply into your eyes

Hand in hand together we
walk along the open sea
as I look deeply into your eyes
you smile at me. Still, we

walk along the open sea
but you suddenly turn and
you smile at me. Still, we
look out into the deep blue sea.

But you suddenly turn and
yet, I still hold onto your hand. Only I now
look into the deep blue sea
hoping that you'll think of me

yet, I still hold onto your hand. Only I now
watch the foaming tides
hoping that you'll think of me
when you close your eyes. You

watch the foaming tides
meet the shore and leave.
When you close your eyes, you
dream about the empty blue and

meet the shore and leave.
As if like one who wanders too, now I
dream about the empty blue and
wonder if I can ever forget you. I imagine

as if like one who wanders too. Now I,
I cannot help but weep when I
wonder if I can ever forget you. I imagine
the day that we would meet as

I cannot help but weep when I
gaze into the endless blue
The day that we would meet as
we walk along the beach.

The author's comments:
This was written for a friend of mine who really liked to travel the seaside. I saw some photos that they had of the beaches that he had visited, and I was inspired to write this poem. It's meant to be really thoughtful and almost funny in a way.
