Carefully he took another step forward
The cold air whisked his hair and made
him nervous
shades of grey kept him warm on
the white steps to up
on his way God waved as he had
while shaking a hand and wishing good
faith
with the ground above and the sky below
again he carefully stepped
grey fell off and white came to sight
he had found it, but not as he’d wished.
Tomorrow would be the same.
