Empty Chair
As I stare silently at his empty chair
I finally discover that life is not fair
Now that I need him more than ever
I realize that he’s gone forever
When we fought I should have let him have his way
But I had no idea he’d be gone today
There’s so many things I wish we had done
We should have laughed, played and had more fun
I should have said, “I love you” every day
But now our love’s been swept away
By the only thing that could break us apart
Yes, Death is the one who broke my heart
Stinging drops of regret fall from my eyes
And every time I close them, he dies.
