"Words mean nothing without action."

- Mr.Hoffman

The skies have opened up again
With tear drops of rain
Falling from up above
From dark clouds of grey

With gun smoke
And the stench of blood
Filling the air
With these Shattered dreams
These groans and screams
all ringing in my ears

But this war continues on and on
On and on with no end in sight
The casualties are still adding up
Landmines still keep blowing up

Could someone please tell me why
Why we can't just live in peace
Instead of taking each others lives
And resting in pieces

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this after reading some pages from a diary/journal that a worldwar2 veteran let me look at. After I read some of the experiences he wrote down I thought about the current war in the middle-east. That is how this poem came to be.
