Take away my sight
So I do not have to see
All of the chaos
That surrounds me.
Take away my hearing
So I do not have to hear
All the yelling and fighting;
People screaming their own fears.
Take away my touch
So I do not have to feel
All the pain around me
That tells me this is real.
Take away my heart
So I do not have to know
What it feels to have it break
When I have to watch you go.
Take away my life -
All my hopes and fears -
So that the pain inside me stops,
Along with all my tears.
