To enable myself to look beyond the lit crest,
a man battle of struggle to get atop the hill,
for my instincts about thee haven't kicked in yet,
but I of determination shall wipe out all will.
And though your possession of masculine beauty appeals to keen eye of mine,
the spell of past heartbreak moves me forward not,
oh how I wish I could purchase time...
or un-do the hands of time on mine heartbreak clock.
Protection of my feelings and to spare you of doubts,
be us not of future rocking chairs hand in a lock,
a decision unchosen by the power within myself,
because I must look upon yonder on that lit crest of innocent wealth.

This piece was inspired by a guy that I use to like. It's about me trying to get over him, how I plan on being successful, unfortuneately without him, and how I'm looking for a deeper, more meaningful relationship then what I think would've happened between us.
